Boutique sizing is not standardized — a Medium from one vendor is not always a Medium from the next. This page is your starting point. Every product page also carries a fit note for that specific piece, and that note beats this chart whenever the two disagree.

General Size Chart

These are body measurements in inches — your measurements, not the flat measurements of the garment. Find the row closest to your numbers, then read the fit note on the product page.

Not every style carries every size.

How to Measure Yourself

Use a soft tape measure over close-fitting clothes, not over a sweater. Keep the tape level and snug but not tight.

• Bust — around the fullest part of your bust, tape level all the way around.
• Waist — around the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the belly button.
• Hip — around the fullest part of your hips, roughly 8 inches below your waist.

Between two sizes? Size up for woven fabrics with no stretch, and size down if you want a closer fit in a knit. The product page fit note will tell you which applies.

Our private label listings include a full garment measurement table — bust, waist, shoulder, sleeve, inseam, rise and length, size by size, taken flat and relaxed. Those numbers are more precise than the general chart above, so use them when you're shopping Luke & Estelle.

Luke & Estelle denim runs in numeric sizes 4 through 16 rather than S–XL, and each product page lists the corresponding measurements.

A Note on Fit

Cut changes everything. The same body measurement wears differently depending on how a piece is made:

• Relaxed or oversized — designed to skim, not fit close. Take your usual size unless you want less volume.
• Smocked or elastic — forgiving across a wide range. Usually true to size.
• Woven with no stretch — the least forgiving. Size up if you're between sizes.
• One size fits most — generally comfortable through a Small to Large range.
• Unisex — cut straighter through the body. Many women size down one.
